Backbending 101: Back to Basics

Are you looking to deepen your backbending practice, but not looking to get too crazy with it? This Beginners to Level 1 workshop will focus on the key elements of backbending: hips, core, spinal extensors, and shoulders. TQ Sims will teach how to access more spinal extension through yoga poses often seen in open classes. Working with not just yoga poses but with skills and drills, this workshop will help develop an awareness of form and function and address what needs to happen in the yogi’s body to make these challenging poses accessible, sustainable, and steady. We will be working on progressing towards a deeper, stronger, balanced Urdva Dhanurasana (aka Upward Bow aka Wheel Pose)!
